The Stray Dog Band was formed back in 2006 in a Richmond, VA basement under the name 'Larry Rosen Experience'. Having all met each other through a mutual friend, an experimental line-up was put together to see what potential was there. Tim Farrow and Larry Rosen were already working together, and had a list of song ideas to start things off. Over time, the 5 piece unit found their stride, and continued to build up a sizable set list of new, original material. Having all become good friends, the songs started to write themselves. Over the years, there were a few line-up changes as a permanent drummer was found, and the name was changed to 'The Stray Dog Band'.
After many gigs around town, and two publicly released albums, Larry Rosen moved to another state, and the band went into hiding for a bit to re-tool as a 4 piece unit, sans the harmonica. In addition to improving their craft and sound, the change inspired a bunch of new material that has been integrated into their set lists. With confidence restored, and a perfected sound, The Stray Dog Band is hitting the ground running this time to get the music into the hands of anyone that will listen, and are agressively pursuing more gigs around Richmond, and beyond! With enough material to record a 3rd album, these Dogs will be back in the studio soon to expand their existing catalog. As a recent add, The Stray Dog Band now has an acoustic only set list, allowing for more diverse performance opportunities.
